Do the courses meet standards?

Yes. Each Interactive course adheres to the national standards (SHAPE America) for health and physical education. The health course also adheres to the Characteristics of an Effective Health Education Curriculum (CDC).

How are courses structured?

Each course is scoped and sequenced via weekly units organized by topic. Each unit contain video lessons paired with formative assessments. Assignments and activities allows students to explore depth of knowledge.

What is blended learning?

A formal education program in which a student, while attending a "brick-and-mortar" school structure, learns in part through online delivery of content and instruction with some element of control over individual learning style.

What does a typical lesson look like?

Each lesson is framed with a relevant question. A short lesson explores the question summarized with a "big idea" - the most vital information to take away from the lesson. Students hdemonstrate understanding with formative questions.

How many lessons are in each course?

Each Interactive course in physical education each contain at least 100 lessons and assignments. Units typically have four to eight assignments. iHealth contains more than 175 lessons and assignments with an average of ten lessons per unit.

Do I have to grade assignments?

Most grading is automatic so students immediately see their scores thus eliminating teacher burden associated with collecting, grading, and reporting. Teachers report a 90% reduction in time required for grading.

How often is the curriculum updated?

Because Interactive is digital curriculum, course lessons and material are continuously reviewed and updated each term to include new and changing information.

Who uses Interactive?

Interactive is used by public, charter and private schools in urban, rural, and suburban communities. The use of Interactive in large schools offers course coherency across all instructors.

What devices does Interactive support?

Interactive works on all devices with internet access and a browser including laptops, tablets, and smartphones. No special software or apps are required.

Do I have to purchase anything else?

No. The entire Interactive course curriculum is digitally accessible via the cloud (education as a service). No additional materials, equipment, or textbooks are necessary.

Are there IEP/ENL accommodations?

Many of the features of iPE/iHealth help students of need be successful including independent learning features like untimed activities, the ability to rewind and replay, and the ability to use translation tools.

Can students work at their own pace?

Yes. The independent nature of Interactive allows students to work at their own pace and manage their own time. Students are rewarded for meeting pace expectations set by their teacher.

Is there a cost to use Interactive?

There is a usage fee for students to access each Interactive course. The cost is based on the number of courses, students, and teachers per school. The fee is typically I the range of a textbook fee or course fee of $13-$15/student.

Can I build my own course?

Yes. The Interactive courses are meant to be best-in-class examples for schools to model. Schools may "rent" Interactive while internal teams develop customer courseware.

What support can I expect?

Professional development, on-going support, and assistance is provided to all teachers using Interactive as part of the service. Response times to requests are typically less than two hours during normal school hours.

How about reports and analytics?

The digital platform is full of learning data. Teachers use the information to gain insights into student learning, guide in-class activities, and create artifacts for the teacher evaluation process.

Does our school need to be 1:1?

No. Device access does not appear to be a factor in student success. Experience shows parity of outcomes between 1:1 schools and non-1:1 schools. It's about the curriculum, not the technology.

Can I evaluate Interactive for myself?
